6.NEW ITEM-Discussion was made regarding a Spring event-“Vendor Fair” a date was set for April 30th, time will be 1-4. Further discussion will be had at the upcoming meetings regarding organization, etc…..

#1 FUNDING REQUEST:

  • 4th grade re: Brookside and birds of prey, they requested $319.44 for Brookside which was in November  and $250 for birds of prey for FEB/MARCH-MOTION CARRIED-FUNDING REQUEST APPROVED.
  • Kindergarten Carousel ride-Saratoga Springs-Congress Park-$150.00-MOTION CARRIED-APPROVED

#2 FUNDRAISING:

  • A few of the Ideas mentioned for 2017 were
  • Fundraising suggestion:
  • Val’s Sporting Goods online clothing sales for Spring
  • MY color run in fall or spring? $25.00/runner minimum
  • Kentucky Derby party idea
  • Dance party-Marathon Dance
  • Readathon
  • Raffles
  • Carnival

FURTHER DISCUSSIONS ON IDEAS WAS TABLED FOR NEXT MEETING

#3 SCREEN FREE WEEKSCHEDULED FOR THE WEEK OF APRIL 10TH- APRIL 13TH- NEED CHAIRS FOR EACH NIGHT

  • A few of the ideas mentioned were:
  • Story time in library- APPROVED FOR THE FIRST NIGHT APRIL 10TH
  • Fitness?
  • Nutrition?
  • Magician-?
  • Bingo-APPROVED FOR FOURTH NIGHT APRIL 13TH

#4 BINGO NIGHTwas successful

#5 CUSTODIAL AND TRANSPORTATION BREAKFASTwent well, suggestions were made to make announcement and flyers for next year.

#6  SPRING EVENT-“Vendor Fair” a date was set for April 30th, time will be 1-4. Further discussion will be had at the upcoming meetings regarding organization, etc…..

#7 NEXT YEAR PICTURES-will be September 28th and September 29th.

TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION FOR FUTURE MEETINGS:

  • Screen Free week, Ericka Silverman will chair- need chairs for each night.
  • Bingo night, Bridget Chapko will chair.
  • Zillah Herrington chair volunteers – Kathy Yaviniski WORKING ON-Zilla Herrington-New Chairs
  • School Banking CAPCOM- NEED TO SEND HOME ANOTHER FLYER REMINDING PARENTS
  • Funding Request (recap), IF ANY
  • Learning Fair
  • Writing Olympics- DISCUSS POSSIBLY ADDING AND ILLUSTRATED SECTION
  • Ideas for 2017 fundraising
  • Discussions on who we should use for yearbooks next year.
  • Discussions on maybe getting a high school student to help out with taking photos for the yearbook. A request for to point and shoot camera’s was requested.

NEXT MEETING

MARCH 15, 2017 @ 6:30pm Elementary School Library

**FYI** The Bylaws set for this organization require that we have an officer election annually.

The officers of this organization shall be a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
– Officers shall be elected by ballot at the annual meeting in May.
– Officers shall assume their official duties on July 1 and shall serve for a term of one year and/or until their successors are elected.
There shall be a nominating committee consisting of three members to be selected by the executive committee. The nominating committee shall be announced at the March meeting of the organization.
